Jeffrey Hillis is an accomplished behavioral healthcare executive who now dedicates himself to providing valuable consulting and advisory services to behavioral health industry stakeholders. Jeff’s accomplishments in the industry are substantial and he brings an informed and unique perspective to assist organizations. Jeff’s clients include, but are not limited to, provider organizations, investor groups, and providers of products and services for industry related organizations.

Jeff’s experience includes 20 years of successful operations with a large substance use disorder treatment organization. During Jeff’s tenure, that system provided a full continuum of substance use disorder treatment services in MA and RI with two inpatient facilities, seven outpatient locations, and a subsidiary corporation operating in the criminal justice arena. In 2018 Jeff and the organization team coordinated a sale of the organization to a national provider. Jeff continued to provide three years of leadership to his division following the sale of the organization. His experience is unique in that it includes successful owner operation of an organization, oversight of an involved transaction process, followed by continued leadership with a national company.

In addition to successful operations of the entities Jeff has overseen, Jeff has consistently shown dedication to the behavioral health field and the patients served in that system. Jeff has held significant board and committee positions in the industry. Jeff has held board positions with the National Association for Behavioral Healthcare (NABH) and the Massachusetts Association for Behavioral Health Systems (MABHS). Importantly, Jeff served as the Chairman of the NABH Addiction Committee from 2015-2020 and served on the Massachusetts Governor’s Commission on Medication Assisted Treatment in 2018. Jeff’s interest and involvement in industry related activities provides him with a keen awareness of issues and challenges that extended far beyond the walls of his own facilities/organizations.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stonehill College and received his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration degrees from Suffolk University. Jeff is licensed as an attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
